#MBTMS update

Update:

Hey, it's been awhile since I updated y'all!

There was one ask I got a blue moon ago about Magic Between the Moon & Sky, and I will sadly report that I do not see myself updating that series for the foreseeable future. I didn't want to be one of those authors who make a 100 oneshot series then stop, but I am just not a fan of TDP at the moment so it's hard to really find the passion to write for a fandom I'm not in anymore.

I also know a good many of you are wondering about Loyalty & Light but I can confidently say that there is nothing solid yet. Another batch of twenty chapters is a lot for me and it will take a long while for it to get up and kicking. But I am still working at it. Don't be afraid to keep asking about it or to send asks! The comments I've been getting are a great inspiration!

Meanwhile, for The Most Undoing Thing, the final two chaps are coming! Regardless of season 2, this does not change the development of the fic at all. TMUT was always set in a post-season 1 only AU formula. I hoped to finish it before season 2, but alas, I did not. That said, I am immensely appreciative of the surge of love and attention toward TMUT. I guess a lot of people are aching for some Mama Jinx after Isha, huh? ( >ヮ<).

So when's TMUT coming out? Well here's a rundown:

Halloween fics: yeah I got delayed, so I'm gonna aim for 2025 Halloween now hopefully...

Once again, all is subject to change of course. Between uni, my newfound interest with D&D, and personal matters, it's hard to find time to write. But I still wanna write! I love writing fics and I miss posting 'em. Fall sem is done and I am hyped to write. As always, if you're interested in these fics, I have a few asks or posts about them that you can find via tags!

In other news, I will officially state that I am now ceasing use of FFN or Fanfiction.Net. This doesn't mean I'll delete my account and all stories up there, but for the future, I will not crosspost anymore fanfics on FFN. With all the issues it's had over the years, and a new wave of scam mail, I'm just tired of it. I'm sad too, because I'm aware of the recent traction I've been getting on there as well, but I'm afraid I'm just too tired of it.

So, I'm only using Ao3 from here on out. Sorry to all you FFN users, but I hope you can find the leniency to at least follow my stories on Ao3!

Hello, I recently read your Magic Between the Moon & Sky series, and I really like the college AU series. It's really wonderful. I want to know if there will be an opportunity to update in the future. If you don't mind, I would like to know why you Not a fan of TDP anymoreFinally, I wish you well. The novels you wrote really bring me great joy.

Ahh, it means a lot to know that you enjoyed my work! I really enjoyed writing Rayllum immensely and I loved to see that a lot of people liked it as much as I did (if not more, apparently 😅). The reason for why I dropped off TDP is kinda... strange to explain. My second oldest sister and I were big fans of the show, and as you can obviously tell from my blog, I was excited about it for a time!

But when Season 4 of The Dragon Prince was announced I was really excited about it! But at the time, my sister and I had others shows we were watching. I was also busy writing for The Most Undoing Thing at the time and didn't want to be too sidetracked with other fandoms. And then, as time went on, it kinda got away from us but we were shocked to hear that Season 5 was announced later in 2023 summer.

Now I know Season 2 and 3 had a similar time gap, for us, we were kinda worried about hearing such an immediate follow up when it felt like Season 4 just came out. Apprehensively, I looked at some reviews and such. I won't say that I haven't been influenced by what I heard, but I also know that there was good reviews and legitimate excitement too! I already read a small amount of the comic materials and books that came out in the break between Season 3 and 4, so I knew a lot of the changes to come.

And the time skip.

So, seeing a bit of a divide, my sister and I slowly just thought, "Well, we'll get around to it." But evidently, it just became something we kind of lost interest in. Season 3 was good, but there were some pacing things we weren't a fan of. For me, I enjoyed the heart of the story and the characters throughout. In the end, I was also aware of the rushed aspects of the narrative too at times.

All in all, I started to have less attachment to really wanting to watch or enjoy the media I was into, and just started focusing on MBTMS itself. Because I still liked Rayllum, and people still liked what I wrote. Though, it became an issue for me, because now I was essentially writing for a fandom I was losing interest in, which meant motivation was hard to muster.

I just felt like I was obligating myself to writing something I wasn't invested in, which made me worry that it would reflect in my writing. And the last thing I wanted, was to write something and put it out when I wasn't even happy with it. With that aside, time just kept moving on and suddenly there's 6 Seasons of this series, and I felt like it was just a lot.

The pacing of TDP has always been... strange. I understand that it's been separated into sagas as well. For MBTMS, I genuinely do wish to finish it someday. But the issue with most of MBTMS, is that it's largely set in an AU stories. And AU or not, I do my best to emulate the canon characters in their personalities and behaviours. So it's hard to do that when you haven't looked at canon material for so long nor if you're just not all too keen on getting back into it.

TL;DR: After putting it off for awhile, it got away from me and my interest slowly waned based on the overall pacing and output of the show. From the reviews and responses, I just felt less inclined to get back into it which affected my motivation to writing for MBTMS. I don't think I'll return to MBTMS, but I wish to someday.

Update:

I am proud to announce that "Loyalty & Light" now has a date of return! Yeaaaah! That's right, we're back in business... soon. heh. Hopefully, now having a date will tide you all over.

Meanwhile, “The Most Undoing Thing” is well on its way and will follow a more sporadic update format. Meaning, it probably won’t be as frequent as y’all would like. If you still haven’t heard, TMUT is going to 20 chapters so we’ve got three left! Wooo!

But now, it's time to promote what else I got in the works:

Halloween Fics! It's early to promote now, but by October I have three oneshots of three different fandoms planned! All Halloween themed and with ships!

So yeah, we getting busy folks! I would like to lead with that though there are schedules in place, these are subject to change in events of burnout, personal matters, or just inconveniences like tech issues. Or there may be random fics that pop up that weren't listed but I just made for the Hell of it. Keeping up with the fic tags---which is usually the fic name plus "update" at the end---is the best way to stay up to date on my fic series/multi-chapter stories.

I should state for the record, I will be returning to university this coming Fall and working part-time more. I'm going to be more busy of course, but I swear I’m doing my best to make sure I'm not overwhelmed! ᕦ( ò_ó)ᕤ

Moments Between the Madness - Chapter 8 ("A Little Thing Like Danger")

“I'm a killer, Peter,” Sylar said softly, “it's all I am.” Watching him, Peter swept his drying hair behind his ear where most of it refused to stay put. “I used to think that. Now I'm not so sure.” Sylar struggled to hide how deafened he was by the lack of alarm bells in his skull ringing 'lie'.

The closer he gets to finally finding his father, the more Sylar can't help but wish he could take even longer to get there...

I know I promised this chapter a while ago, and here it is, the longest one so far to thank you for your patience between updates! X) I look forward to sharing these events of the story with you and hope you think it was worth the wait!

Sylar blinked down at the strange sensation, struggling to process the even stranger sight of Peter's fingers around his. “You stayed,” the hero croaked, like the thought had only just occurred to him. His hand, a minute ago so capable and steady when saving a life, trembled slightly in Sylar's. “Thank you.” Perplexed, the killer glanced at Peter's face. Before remembering he'd been actively avoiding making such a mistake.

Stranded in the wilderness, Sylar begins to reconsider his previous stance: perhaps some heroic deeds can exist without personal gain?

What time is it? UPDATE TIME! *DJ airhorn sounds* "Another one so soon?" Yuuuup. So now that I successfully posted my MBTMS prank fic, we've gotta talk more scheduling!

L&L shall continue its biweekly scheduling, as I've stated previously, until episode 10! For its mid-season hiatus! I have gotten some inquires about how long the hiatus may be and all I can say is it depends. I ideally like to get out a decent some of the chapters before uploading so I'm ahead, so it may take a couple months before L&L will be back. But that's not for awhile, so let's not fret!

If you recall from my last "bleh update", I had two slots of To Be Filled Later (TBFL) oneshots that I said I was open to suggestions for! Weeellll, no ideas exactly came forward---and that's fine---but since I had the vacancies I decided I'd pursue fic ideas I'd been mulling over awhile and well...

MBTMS UPDATE:

i know, i know, big oofs on my end.

So editing took a bit longer than I expected and because I didn't update my washable calendar (I remake it at the end of every month), I totally miscalculated the days I had left for the oneshot. So what happens?

It WILL still be coming! Just not today--tomorrow or Sunday, April 9th or April 10th, (and yes, I know those dates are close). Also some COVID scares came up last minute and so my household is under tense atmospheres at the moment! I am fine! But I just thought I'd let y'all know, even though it's really late, that the College AU oneshot will be delayed a bit.

Sorry! Man, I feel like such an ass 😅. I pull off an April Fools prank and when it comes to the actual chapter update it gets delayed. Classic Bleh. 🙄. Sorry again everyone!

Update:

It's been awhile since the last update, so let's talk!

So, L&L is up and going! As I've said it will go all the way to Episode 10, "Something Ventured, Luz is Framed" then go on a mid-season hiatus, wherein I'll start cracking down on the later half of season 1 and early season 2 and begin getting them ready for their bi-weekly updates. Until then, Loyalty & Light will continue its schedule!

As for MBTMS? Another update will be coming soon! Late March, to mid-April, there'll be another MBTMS oneshot (and it'll be College AU!). But no promises for any other chapter updates after that! Sorry, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As for what else is to come? Maybe y'all could help?

As some may recall from my last pinned post, I stated that MBTMS ("Magic Between the Moon & Sky")---my Rayllum Dragon Prince oneshot series---will take a backseat for now as I work on other projects. I've decided to make another pinned update for what's to come or what to expect!

Not about the reveal, but the self proclaimed "awesome". I'm just excited!

So yes, 2021 is now done and 12 Days of Rayllum is finished! As I've stated before, going forward, the next update for MBTMS won't be anytime soon for the foreseeable months.

I gather a very small percentage of my followers are actually a part of all my fandoms, but I'd still like to thank all of you who joined me for MBTMS' 12 Days of Rayllum and for earlier in Fall, Taang week! They were an absolute blast to write/prepare for! An amongst my prep for these prompt challenges, I was also prepping "Loyalty & Light".

For those who don't know what that is, here's where I somewhat explain it (there's also cover art!) but if you search for "Loyalty & Light" or "L&L" or "L&L Asks" as a tag on my blog you'll find more info. But I've been writing and prepping this fic series for over a year now!

But what else to look forward to? Well here:
